General

  • You can use a KASTA Remote Switch to control a KASTA Smart Downlight. A KASTA Dimmer or Relay device is not required to control a KASTA Smart Downlight.

  • 1. Make sure the Wi-Fi connected to is 2.4G.
    2. Some internet providers may only provide one channel which is a mix of 2.4G and 5G, this may not work with KASTA.

  • It is preferred to have the mobile phone close to the device you are wising to add to your KASTA network.
    It is recommended to place the KASTA-CCGW Cloud Connect gateway close to the modem, and do the pairing process near the modem.

  • This maybe for multiple reasons including power supply, ripple injection etc. A Load Bypass Capacitor can be used for low-power loads/lights to avid flickering in some instances. 

  • If you have a KASTA-CCGW Cloud Connect gateway installed, then the schedule will automatically adjust.
    If a gateway isn’t installed, you have to re-enable the schedule after your phone’s time is updated.

  • Check if the KASTA network has been uploaded to cloud in iOS device previously. Close the app and add update.

  • Once you have setup a schedule, all schedule settings will be stored into the corresponding devices or cloud.
    The schedule will run automatically. However, if there is any power outage, the time setting of devices would be cleared, so you have to re-enable schedule in KASTA app.

  • 1. Check if the KASTA-CCGW Cloud Connect gateway is working.
    2. Open Google Home App to see if KASTA devices are offline or not.

  • You can share your network via ‘Add Member’ to other KASTA accounts. There is no limit on the number of members.

  • KASTA Smart Sockets and Smart Powerpoints have the ability to monitor energy consumption on the connected device.
    To access the power consumption summary go to EDIT within the KASTA device page.

  • The KASTA app offers both Timers and Schedules. A Timer allows you to turn on or off KASTA devices after a set period.
    This can be enabled/disabled through the App. KASTA smart relay devices also feature onboard control to enable/disable timers.
    A Schedule allows for automation to occur within a set time.
    You need to set up a schedule to turn on/off the device/group/scene and a second schedule to perform the opposite action.

  • Yes. You can use a KASTA smart remote switch to control a KASTA smart globe. This includes a KASTA-1BMBH as well as any of our Hesperus Multivue, Touch or Push smart switch interfaces.
  • No, the KASTA App is cloud-based, therefore the phone must be connected to a 4G network as a minimum in order to program or make modifications to KASTA devices.
    However, KASTA devices are Bluetooth based, therefore you can still control KASTA devices with its current settings with any connected KASTA smart switches or the KASTA App.
  • Unfortunately, your ability to reprogram is lost unless you have done a QR code transfer to another App device – this is the only method of restoration in these circumstances. Programming cannot be retrieved from KASTA devices but will continue operating as per the last programmed settings. The user is able to log in to the KASTA app on their new phone to gain access to the KASTA mesh network so long as the network has previously been uploaded to the cloud using the KASTA app. If it is a locally based network, unfortunately, your ability to reprogram is lost unless you have generated a QR code transfer to another App device – this is the only method of restoration in these circumstances. Programming cannot be retrieved from KASTA devices but will continue operating as per last programmed settings.

  • We only save and protect your KASTA account information and KASTA device information. We don’t collect any personal data.

  • In order to delete an account, you need to delete the KASTA App and then contact Technical Support by calling (02) 9168 5900 and selecting Option 2 for Technical Support.

  • Unfortunately, this auto-function is not available as KASTA does not collect any system data or have any internet data communication. You will need to adjust the “schedule”.

  • This application is not recommended.

    1. Find ‘Routine’ button in Google home app or Amazon Alexa app.
    2. Setup the routine action via selecting SMART DEVICE and then selecting KASTA devices.

  • There maybe a slight delay depending on the size of your house and number of devices on the network.

  • Yes, plug the TV into one of the sockets and control via App, Remote Switch and onboard control. Voice control and remote access is achievable with a KASTA-CCGW Cloud Connect gateway.

  • Yes, so long as the lamp switch remains switched on.

  • You can use a KASTA Remote Switch to control a KASTA Smart Downlight. A KASTA Dimmer or Relay device is not required to control a KASTA Smart Downlight.

     (If there is a KASTA-CCGW Gateway in the network, please use method 2 or 3)
    2. Share the KASTA account name and password. Other users can login with the same account name and password to get all networks and device information under the KASTA account.
    3. If want to share the network information with other existing KASTA App
    Go to KASTA app, Settings – Network, click the Network which needs to be shared, then click ‘+’ button, enter the nickname and account, then select the member status. After that, the network and device information will be shared with other KASTA account.

Software

  • The KASTA app offers both Timers and Schedules. A Timer allows you to turn on or off KASTA devices after a set period.
    This can be enabled/disabled through the App. KASTA smart relay devices also feature onboard control to enable/disable timers.
    A Schedule allows for automation to occur within a set time.
    You need to set up a schedule to turn on/off the device/group/scene and a second schedule to perform the opposite action.
